Spent mid morning doing the nature hike at the visitor center until lunch time, needless to say we were pretty hungry so we decided on this place for tacos, who can pass up tacos, right! The tacos were pretty good, probably one of the best tacos I’ve had in South Lake Tahoe. Salsa bar has plenty of options but I don’t understand the charge for chips – I’m used to chips coming with everything when at a Mexican restaurant.
The order process is fast, menu is right behind the cashier so make your choice, order, and pay. Food was done in no time flat so you don’t have to wait around forever.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting pope beach, which is pretty close. Small place with seating inside and a few tables outside. We ordered one Chicken Burrito that was packed with enough left over for the next day. My friend decided on the taco salad which came in a shell. Nice proportions on the salad including beans. Total was $30 for the two.
They do have breakfast burritos that we will have to try next time.
It’s worth a stop if your in the mood for Mexican food. Wait times were not that bad, about 20 minutes so take that into account.

Coming back to South Lake Tahoe after a few years on the road, this was my favorite spot for Mexican Food. We ordered their 2 taco plates with beans and rice to go, Asade and carnitas. Service was pretty fast considering it was 1:00 PM. The portions were the same I recalled, plenty! The flavor was as it remembered it, great! The price, was not has I remember it, $47.00, I was also a little shocked when I asked for chips they said it would be an additional $2.00, is that why they took away the chip bar? The salsa bar was still out and had plenty of choices. Bring your before Covid prices back and I will add another star.
